Mercedes Delivers the Glamour at the Paris Motor Show

Mercedes shine at the Paris Motor Show and even manage to confirm stunning F1 powered Hyper-Car.

On the eve of the eagerly-anticipated Paris Motor Show, Mercedes-AMG bosses unveil their plans to build a Formula 1 powered road car.  The German sports car giants confirmed a brand-new hybrid hyper-car that will be powered by the 1.6 turbo engine that Lewis Hamilton uses to power himself through the F1 season.

AMG boss Tobias Moers confirmed the news and claimed it will be ‘the most efficient hypercar you can get.’  He also went on to state the AMG philosophy behind the vehicle was to deliver the entire package: low weight, crisp handling and peerless power that can deliver unrivalled lap times around the Nurburgring.

With plans very much being put in place, we can expect our first visuals of the unique hypercar at some point in 2017, but for now we can only speculate as to what it will look like.

Development was confirmed by Ola Kallenius the Mercedes Sales and Marketing boss, ‘We have started development on this car and what is going to be absolutely unique about it, which nobody has ever done and very are capable of doing, we are going to take the F1 powertrain and put it in a road car.’

The 1.6 litre V6 Turbo featured in Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton’s cars is restricted, so without the Formula 1 regulations there is potential for even more power and performance.  With the help of the KERS energy system, the hypercar could even exceed 1000bhp.

The car will be a joint venture between the AMG engineers in Affalterbach in Germany and the Formula 1 team based in Northampton. The Hypercar will lead the AMG range and be in a market of its own as no one has ever attempted a similar style vehicle.  The cutting edge technology used in powering the vehicle will eventually be spread out through the AMG range but the powers at AMG insisted there was still a market for highly-tuned V8 and V12 engines.

This project is one that will fill the motoring world with excitement and we can’t wait to lay eyes on it. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for all the latest coming out of this one!
